CO2RE Carbon Dioxide Fractional Laser Resurfacing (also known as Fractionated CO2 Laser) uses light energy to remove layers of skin in a columned pattern, leaving an intact cushion of skin surrounding each damaged portion, to speed up healing. This is a fairly aggressive and highly effective treatment for deep imperfections, such as scars and wrinkles, or environmental damage to your chest and hands. The laser essentially vaporizes damaged skin, so that your body can get busy healing the tiny wounds by making fresh, new skin. While the old skin may have had uneven pigmentation or scarring, the new skin will be tight and smooth.

CO2RE is different from most fractional laser systems, because it uses two types of beams to penetrate different depths of skin at the same time. This means it can treat a variety of issues, in some cases, in a single treatment. Because of this dual-beam system, CO2RE is an excellent option to simultaneously treat lines and age spots. It’s mostly used on the face, but it could also treat the neck, chest, and hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What lasers do you have?

We currently have PDL (VBEAM), PicoWay, and CO2 lasers.

How do I know which laser I need?

The appropriate laser treatment will be determined at your consultation after Dr. Plank goes over your specific concerns.

What is a CO2 laser treatment?

The CO2 Fractional resurfacing laser is carbon dioxide laser which precisely removes deep outer layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. The CO2 treats fine to moderately deep wrinkles, photo damage, scarring, skin tone, texture, crepiness and laxity.

When will I begin to see results after a CO2 laser treatment?

After your skin heals, which may take up to 3 weeks, patients will experience a period of their skin appearing slightly pink. During this time, you will see improvements of skin texture and tone. Full results can be seen 3-6 months after the initial treatment, once the skin has completely healed.

Is there any downtime associated with an CO2 laser treatment?

Yes, there is downtime associated with a CO2 laser treatment. Plan for 7-10 days for healing before you can go out in public. Your skin will scab and peel 2-7 days after treatment, and will be pink for 3-4 weeks. The exact healing time varies between person to person.

PicoWay is a groundbreaking technology that allows patients of all skin tones to enjoy the benefits of laser treatments.  It is safe and effective for acne scars, wrinkles, dark spots, discoloration, birthmark removal, wrinkles, uneven texture, and even tattoo removal.  A multi-purpose laser, PicoWay can treat both uneven skin tone and texture at the same time.

Our Vbeam Perfecta or Vbeam Prima treatments use a Pulsed Dye Laser, also known as vascular lasers, to gently but effectively treat rosacea, spider veins, broken capillaries, warts, stretch marks, and birthmarks. It’s one of the best treatments for red, discolored skin, and it’s so mild, it can be used on babies. A laser wand delivers a concentrated burst of energy to a superficial blood vessel, destroying that blood vessel while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The body reabsorbs the damaged blood vessel and redirects blood flow to a deeper, less visible vessel.
